"No one cares about the Kardashians"
"Stop posting the Kardashians, we don't care about them"
"The Kardashians have nothing to offer! They're idiots!"
Those are the comments usually left on publication's websites and Facebook comments when they post articles about our favorite family. It's because people hate that society loves the Kardashians.
The reason that those publications keep publishing articles titled "This Is the Moisturizer that Kim K Loves & It's Only $4!" or "Eat Like a Kardashian: Kourtney's Daily Meals" is because it gets them clicks. Kardashian articles are some of the highest clicked. The Kardashians make everyone, including themselves, a lot of money.
That thought doesn't cross people's mind because they are so blinded by their hatred of the first family of reality television. But why? What is so negative about the Kardashians? What makes people loathe them more than any other celebrity?
From what I've gathered, people think they are too sexual, dumb, materialistic, talented, and just not worth the celebrity.
However, that simply isn't true.
It's been over 10 years that the Kardashians have been in our lives and at this rate, they aren't going anywhere. They each have carved out their own little niche and they are flourishing. Kylie is the queen of a makeup empire, and Kim KW is coming for the crown. Khloe has made her mark as a fitness guru while Kourtney is all about the health & wellness lifestyle. Lets not forget about Kendall and her modeling career.
This family has proven time after time that they are more than reality stars. They took that and ran with it; they are the reason we have so many 'reality stars' in the world today, and while some think that it has ruined society, how has it really?
The Kardashians give us products we love (good products at that) and they entertain us at best. They've also done a lot of good and raised awareness of issues on the show (including gun violence). What other family has gone through the transition of their father on national television? And done it so well?
The Kardashians are not bad people and just because we like them, doesn't make us bad people either. I can love Kim, buy a Kylie Lip Kit and tune in on a Sunday night to E! and still care about what else is going on in the world.
The Kardashians are not going anywhere, so buckle up and enjoy the ride... or just look away.
