TV recaps, Entertainment, & Pop Culture
I really wasn’t going to recap this because I had a shitty day and I feel like utter crap, however I knew I couldn’t go without writing about this epic ness.
It’s TGIT time, it’s back for the final round (Bye Bye Scandal) and we have the most intense crossover in TV history.
Olivia Pope is teaching Annalise how to handle and bounce back from a crisis.
Has there ever been anyone more badass than Ms Pope?
Maybe Annalise Keating.
Annalise tells Olivia all about the case she’s putting together; for all the people in prison who she wants to let out. I don’t fully understand everything that goes on in HTGAWM so forgive me if the details are not all there.
We’re back at OPA, Huck & Abby are giving Quinn the lowdown on things and all Quinn can do is google Olivia.
Marcus convinces Olivia to take the case from Annalise and if I know Olivia, she clearly will. But also, how we would have an episode if she didn’t?
Ok so maybe I was wrong? Liv just said “Have a safe trip back to Philadelphia”
Ok, never mind. “My town, my game, my rules”. It’s ON between Pope and Keating.
Obviously Olivia went to Fitz with this, after him and Marcus already tried to combat this issue.
Side note, her makeup is FLAWLESS in this episode so far.
I don’t really get the entire Fitz and Olivia thing; I never liked them together and always preferred Jake but to each their own I guess. I like that they’re not in a good place and fighting because it makes everything so much more interesting.
They go to the White House to meet with Mellie, and basically Madame President says she can’t help with this case. Her excuse is that the case can’t win right now but maybe in a year. Olivia says she’s going to the Supreme Court anyway…
Oh dam, Mellie & Olivia are fired up. I love when they’re friends but love when they fight dirty.
Jake goes to Quinn and tries to get her on his side, by not allowing this case to go to the Supreme Court because it’ll be a win for Olivia.
Both OPA and Olivia are doing their research, digging things up, and figuring out what’s the best tactic for both side. Annalise asks Olivia if she could go on an interview to plead her case. After a little push and pull, Liv agrees.
Annalise calls out Liv for lying about the details about her resignation from the White House, after seeing something about it on TV while getting their hair done for the interview.
“It’s not your color or your waist size that keep people from liking you. You’re a bully.” Dam, Olivia, you WENT THERE.
I’m so happy that Abby and David are back together. It’s wonderful and makes my heart full.
Fitz and Liv are back at it, fighting that is, and he finally says it. “Where is Olivia Pope?”
This isn’t the Liv we fell in love with and where the hell did the real Olivia go? Something broke her, and I don’t know what it was.
I don’t think she knows either.
She says she took the case to make a difference and Fitz says “there you are” and it’s so true. Liv just wants to help, not make things worse.
Olivia goes on air with Annalise and she confronts the rumors (aka fact) that she was fired from the White House. She explains her feelings, which I’m too tired to really listen too. She quickly turns the conversation to Annalise and the real reason that they are in this interview.
OK, so the point of this case is because there are so many public defenders (or lack there of) who aren’t capable of defending the people in prison.
“Popcorn and wine together?”
“Yeah, it’s kind of my thing”
God, I love this.
Marcus calls Olivia and tells her that last Supreme Court member they needed to accept their plea wasn’t convinced and the case won’t be making it to the highest court in the land.
Marcus and Michaela almost kiss at the bar, until Asher calls her and she leaves.
Quinn shows up to Olivia’s apartment and hands her some document and tells her that the interview affected the Supreme Court Justice. We don’t really know why… at least I don’t think we do.
Obviously Olivia shows up at the Justice’s office and it’s that the Justice’s son killed a woman in a hit & run, and then paid off the only witness.
Olivia tells him that the witness died and she’ll make it all go away, if he just listens to the case and to his conscience. She makes it clear that she’s not blackmailing him, but just appealing to his inner demons.
That’s it, Olivia gets it done and the Justice adds the case to the list of cases that the SC will hear, and that they’re moving it up the docket.
Another win for Olivia, and a win for Annalise.
I’m too tired to recap HTGAWM so I’ll see you tomorrow for some other entertainment news!
