TV recaps, Entertainment, & Pop Culture
Well, if last week wasn't the Riverdale episode to end all episodes (Dark Betty doing webcam stuff, Betty and Jughead doing the deed, and Alice Cooper killing a guy in her kitchen) then this episode had a lot to follow.
It starts out with Betty helping Alice clean up the dead guy's body, and then proceeding to hide it but not before Hal walks in and then Jughead calls Betty. Both know something is up.
WTF Mama Blossom & Hal? Is he paying her? Is he a client of her new brothel? WTF Riverdale!
FP approaches Jughead about some Serpents nonsense and then realizes that General Piktins head is missing, and he is not pleased. There's some stuff with the Lodges but I don't really know what happened with that. I'm very invested in what is happening with Betty right now.
Betty is now having visions and nightmmares about cleaning up the blood and ya know, hiding a dead body.
Jughead is feeling insecure because Betty didn't say anything about their special night but she assures him that she loves him and it was wonderful, there was just drama at home. Ah, there's nothing drama
Kevin comes into the school hangout to tell the gang that his dad found a dead body. Betty immediately turns paler than usual, digs her fingernails into her palms, but then young Keller reveals it was at a motel. Betty heads to the bathroom to throw up her guts anyway.
Jughead approaches Mayor McCoy about her doing businesses with the lodges
Betty goes to find the dead body her and her mother buried, just to make sure it's still there and surprinsgly, his phone starts to ring. She obviously takes it, like any good girl would, and brings it home. *I couldn't see who exactly was calling him*. She goes home, and writes down all the numbers in his phone, while having flashbacks of cleaning up the blood.
God, Betty has issues.
She finds out that the person they killed was a drug dealer and this seems to settle Alice's mind because drug dealers are bad people.
Hiram Lodge goes to see FP and Jughead and at first, they come to an understanding (unsure on what??) and then it ends with Jughead telling Hirom that he won't stop writing the expose on the Lodges. FP supports his son and tells Mr. Lodge that they'll "See him in the funny pages" which I'm sure is a reference to Archie Comics.
Cheryl approaches her mother after seeing Hal Cooper leave their house and Mrs. Blossom reveals that Hal isn't a client, they're in love. Ok, I didn't see that coming.
Wait, the FBI Agent is sitting with Archie's dad? Are they working together or did he just reveal that Archie & him have been working together? This FBI stuff is weird AF>
Betty is calling people on the dead guy's phone while sitting at Pop's but everyone keeps hanging up on her, until someone calls her back and yells at her. If my hearing doesn't deceive me, the person says "You're the whore who has been slutting it up with Archie, tell him not to come home." I'm guessing Betty only heard the girl say Archie because Veronica still doesn't know about their kiss. She then calls Jughead to come to her house because she 'feels like she's going crazy'. Uhh, yeah, ya think Betty?
OMG a cop stops Betty and Jughead (after she tells him her mom killed someone in cold blood and she helped clean it up) and asks them about the car that has been parked in front of their house for a few days ... the dead guy's car. How did Alice miss that?!
Ok, the FBI Agent, Agent Adams, told Mr. Andrews that they were looking into undocumented workers. Basically, he's bullshitting to get closer to Archie and show him who's boss. If Archie doesn't plant a bug in Mr. Lodge's office, he'll do something to Archie's dad. WOAH that's intense.
Then we have Cheryl threatening Hal? She's going to tell Betty about the affair if he doesn't end it? When did high school kids get such balls?
Jughead & Betty hot wire the car and then drive it into a lake so it sinks? Once again, when did high school kids get such balls? And become so dangerous?? Riverdale is a weird town.
The Lodges threatened Mayor McCoy with exposing the affair with Sheriff Keller, and Mr. Lodge thinks that Veronica tipped her off because she resigned.
Also, can we talk about why Hal hates Chix so much? Clearly it's not his son and I need to know whose son it is.
Hal turns on Chix and Betty, yelling at them because he thinks they're hiding something. Chix gets super squirmy and tears up when Betty threatens her dad, telling him if he doesn't stop she'll tell Alice about Penelope Blossom. That's when Hal leaves with his tail between his legs. Good idea Hal.
WTF is ARCHIE DOING. He told Hiram Lodge about the FBI!!! OMG Archie is going to die! Archie says he's doing this because he fears Agent Arthur Adams is more dangerous than ever, and because he needs Hiram's help. I'm pretty sure this will all blow up in Archie's face.
Betty approaches her mother about doing something about this secret. They can't keep this secret and need help, but not from the cops. That's when they show up at the trailer and FP opens the door, telling them that Jughead told him everything and he won't let make the same mistake.
I'm pretty sure Chix is FP's son, so Betty and Jug share a sibling which is v sad because I'm so team Bughead.
FP tkes matters into his own hands and goes to the body, and it looks like he's going to burn the body.
Hiram's guy comes to pick up Archie to take him to see the boss, but they're not going to the Pembrook. They're going somewhere more scenic. WTF does that mean!
FP meets Alice, and Bughead at Pop's and tells them the job is done. He didn't burn the body but put salt on it, saying that the body will decompose in a week.
Chix is at home, looking through the Cooper's family albums and cuts out Hal. WEIRDO.
We're back on the road with Archie and they park in the woods, but instead of Hiram, it's Hermione Lodge. They're standing at the edge of a cliff, she's wearing a black veil (which weirdly looks like a black hood).
OMG She reveals that Agent Banks doesn't work for the FBI but for HER. It was a test to see how loyal he was, and he passed. She welcomes him to the family, which I think is more than just the Lodge's but the mob family.
This was WILD and a great episode. But OMG it doesn't come back until March 7th and the next episode looks dam good!
Until next time...
